Woman in red glasses holds children's book Philomena's New Glasses

Philomena’s New Glasses – Quick Picture Book Review

I got this book for the cute factor, but friends, Philomena’s New Glasses is about so much more.

Philomena’s New Glasses is a surprising book about sisters and sharing, all told through the eyes of a guinea pig family.

Philomena needs glasses, and her sister Audrey feels jealous and gets some too. Plus a handbag for snacks. Not to be outdone, Nora Jane gets glasses too, and a handbag, and they all add a fancy new outfit. But the dress is a bit itchy, and the bags don’t work for everyone, and slowly the sisters realize that “not everyone needs the same things.” An awesome message told in just a fabulously engaging way.

Philomena’s New Glasses is written by Brenna Maloney, who you might know from The Washington Post and National Geographic. She also wrote Ready Rabbit Gets Ready!, a visual treat of a kid’s book. Philomena’s New Glasses is available on Amazon and Bookshop.
