A Family Is a Family Is a Family – a quick review

A Family Is A Family Is A Family is a warm reminder that there is no wrong way to be a family!

We know so many kinds of families, and I bet you do too. Families where grandparents play a primary caregiver role. Families with foster parents. Two mommies or daddies, or just one grownup. Two houses. Interracial parents. Disabled parents. All of it is great, as long as there is love.

A Family Is A Family Is A Family is a wonderful book for kids headed back to school, a guide for being thoughtful about how families work. It’s also a great gift for new babies! And if you live in a place where nontraditional families are not as free to come forward, please consider requesting that your library gets a copy.

By Sara O’Leary, illustrated by Qin Leng. Their follow up, A Kid Is A Kid Is A Kid, is available for preorder!

A Family Is A Family Is A Family is available on Amazon and Bookshop. It’s a total delight, recommended for preschoolers through maybe second grade or so.
