The Couch Potato – a quick review

Can’t tell who is more of a couch potato, Katie or me…

We love The Couch Potato! This picture book is such a good read for transitioning back to the real world. We’re not quite there yet, the kiddos aren’t protected… but we will be soon!

The titular potato is sooooo comfortable in their house. They have all the screens and gadgets and can connect with their friends, virtually, anytime they want! But when the power goes out, the potato takes their dog (Tater!) for a walk. Outside. And it’s great! They love the colors of the sunset and the smell of the air. Maybe being outside away from screens isn’t so bad after all!

By the dynamite team of Jory John and Pete Oswald. These two created The Cool Bean, The Bad Seed, The Good Egg and The Smart Cookie. You’ll love everything you read from them! Pete Oswald also created one of our favorite wordless books, Hike, about a father and child going into nature. Jory John wrote the absolutely hilarious All My Friends are Dead and All My Friends are Still Dead, full of important thoughts such as, “If you’re a tree, all of your friends are end tables.”

The Couch Potato is available on Amazon and Bookshop.
