We Are The Gardeners by Joanna Gaines – Quick Review

We grew carrots! So of course we read We Are the Gardeners by Joanna Gaines and kids.

We’ve been attempting to grow some veggies on our little patio, and the first carrot harvest inspired this read. Take a look at the triumphant moment below!

We Are The Gardeners is the sweetest story about how a little fern and some over-exuberant watering turned into a full blown garden that the family manages together. We loved that even the baby had a job to do! We also loved how patient the kids had to be, how everyone pitched in, and how they had to creatively solve problems along the way.

This is a good daytime read for 3-8 year olds, perhaps a bit long for bedtime although we did it anyway!

A child holds up a handful of carrot greens with small carrots fresh from the dirt.

Written by Joanna Gaines, of Chip and Joanna from HGTV’s Fixer Upper and now Magnolia. Illustrated by Julianna Swaney. These two also collaborated on the wonderful The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be.

We Are the Gardeners is available on Amazon and Bookshop.
