Moving to Culver City was the best decision! But moving is no cakewalk, and moms know better than anyone how important it is to think a few steps ahead. Here are three tips for families who are considering a move to Culver City:
Think about your school district
Culver City is well known for great schools, so make sure you’re taking advantage! When you look at new places, type the address in at GreatSchools.org. Highly rated schools in Culver City include El Marino Elementary School, Culver City Middle School, and Culver City High School.
Think about parking
Parking can make or break your living experience. Keep these things in mind:
- Do you want parking included, or are you ok with paying extra?
- Do you need zero, one or two parking spots?
- Are you open to tandem parking (parking with one person behind the other)?
- Do you want covered parking? Garage parking? Outdoor and uncovered?
- Do you have kids? You’ll need enough space between cars to get them out of carseats.
Think about the beach
Where I live, the beach is only 8 minutes away. Is that important to you? Is that important to your kids?
For our family, the beach is an easy and reliably fun source of entertainment. And all it costs is sunscreen (for the record, we use Two Peas Organics and love it!). Does that lifestyle justify the extra cost of living in this zip code?
If so, do a quick Google Maps directions search from your potential place to “the beach.” I was surprised, a beach I had never heard of showed up. And now we have what feels like our own private beach with a view worth a million bucks.
What about you? What are you considering for your move?
